Our mission
To help people disconnect from digital distraction and reconnect with the people, conversations, and moments that matter most.
We are not anti-phone. We are pro-family moments. The mission is not to shame technology use. The mission is to help families notice, protect, and reclaim the small moments where connection happens.
Phones are useful. Screens are part of modern family life. But dinner, bedtime, car rides, walks, playtime, and quiet conversations deserve room too.
Your Phone Can Wait exists to make phone-free moments feel simple, warm, and possible. We do not ask families to reject technology. We invite them to choose presence when it matters most.
What we believe
- We believe the smallest family moments are often the most important.
- We believe a child should not have to compete with a screen for eye contact.
- We believe family connection does not need to be perfect, planned, or expensive.
- We believe phones can wait during dinner, bedtime, playtime, car rides, and conversations.
- We believe parents should not be shamed. They should be supported with simple, visible cues.
- We believe the goal is not less technology for the sake of less technology. The goal is more noticing, more listening, more laughing, and more being together.
- We are not anti-phone. We are pro-family moments.
What this is — and what it is not
This is an invitation, not a lecture. A cue, not a rule. A pause, not a punishment.
We sound warm, honest, encouraging, practical, human, and lightly emotional. Parents should feel hopeful, not blamed. Kids should feel included, not controlled.
What this is:
- A gentle, voluntary pause — for the whole family, not just children. Parents participate too.
- Small moments: dinner, bedtime, car rides, walks, playtime, and conversations.
- Presence over distraction. Less scrolling. More noticing.
- Phones down. Family present.
What this is not:
- We are not anti-phone, and we are not anti-tech. Phones are useful. Screens are part of modern family life.
- This is not a lockbox, a timer box, or a punishment. Not forced. Chosen.
- This is not judgment, alarm, or guilt. We do not shame parents, and we do not say “quit screens.”
We are not asking for perfect families. We are asking for one small moment, protected together.
The small moments
Phones have a place. So do dinner, playtime, bedtime stories and conversations. We help families protect those moments without shame.
- Dinner — Dinner deserves presence.
- Bedtime — Bedtime stories, not bedtime scrolling.
- Car rides — rides, errands, and waiting rooms, together.
- Play — playtime, walks, and board games, with eyes up.
- Conversations — quiet conversations that deserve room too.
Because the people in front of you matter more than the screen in your hand.
Our promise

Make phone-free moments feel easy, shared, and emotionally worth it.
Every page, post, and pause we make should answer one question: does this help a family reclaim one small moment together?
